Queueing Theory

I am teaching Queueing Theory this semester. There is a (bare bones) website.
The link to it is on the right under “Teaching”. Please sign up for the forum if you are taking this class.

Spam Conference

I am speaking at the MIT Spam Conference on my network based spam classifier. This work will also be appearing in an upcoming issue of Computer.

Back in Virtual-Land

So my webserver is back on a virtual server at UF. Hopefully the uptime will be a bit longer in the future. On the upside, I got the whole configuration done in about 3 hours this time.

Hubris

Spent some time getting my blog (and setting up mailing lists) on a server at UF. Sadly, this happened 1 day before the partition my filesystem was stored on was accidentally deleted (not by me). So, back to Starsky I go….

The thing is, Starsky has been a dependable work horse for years. It has probably been rebooted less than 30 times during the entire time it has run GNU/Linux. It has gone over a year without a reboot more than once.

This will teach me to be circumspect about changing my infrastructure.
